Dundonald Links are set to host the Tartan Pro Tour ‘Winter Series’ on the 30th October.

The Scottish-based tour was set up in the summer by Paul Lawrie as an open access, developmental Scottish circuit due to the difficulties with professional schedules.

“The Tartan Pro Tour has come about partly because Covid has obliterated our normal schedules.” said Lawrie. “For the players on the smaller circuits, there’s little or nothing to set their sights on, sadly. And whilst there seem to be several smaller tours popping-up around the M25 corridor, it’s a long way for pros from north of the border to go without accommodation options and all the other considerations around air travel and so on”.

Following a successful summer, the tour is continuing with the Tartan Tour ‘Winter Series’, which will comprise of 7 events played across the country throughout October and November. The series is open to any professional golfer, male or female, with 100% of entry fees going into the prize funds which will be enhanced by corporate partners.

Ian Ferguson, Club Manager at Dundonald Links said “We’re delighted to help support The Tartan Pro Tour, bringing together professional golfers at a particularly difficult time. It’s a tremendous initiative by Paul Lawrie who’s given so much to the game”.
