From humble competition to global championship, The R&A Museum & Heritage Director Angela Howe visited Dundonald Links on Thursday the 16th of November 2023 and explored the history of The Open and its west coast connections.
With The Open returning to Troon next year in 2024 and with Dundonald Links being a host venue of The Open Final Qualifying until 2026, we were honoured to have specially loaned pieces from the Museum which were available for viewing inside our famous Whisky Room in the Canny Crow restaurant, including the famous Claret Jug.
Golf clubs were able to pre-book private sessions of which they could view the specially loaned pieces, learn more about the trophies and ask any questions they desired.
Dundonald Links would like to thank everyone at both The R&A and The Open for providing us with this privilege and we are delighted that this event was deemed a large success. Following this, we’re extremely hopeful that we will be able to hold another showcasing event like this in the near future.
